Hopi Ear Candling

Hopi Ear Candling

This is a very relaxing and calming therapy.  Quite different from conventional wax candles, a Hopi ear candle is actually a cotton tube, impregnated with beeswax, honey and therapeutic oils.  When lit, the ear candles have a slight sucking action often referred to as the "chimney" effect, drawing any impurities to the surface where they can be gently removed.  The rising air inside the ear sets up a vibration which gently massages the eardrum.  This can help regulate the pressures involved inside the ear.

Ear candling also relieves pressure in the head and sinuses, aids hearing problems, helps with balance and inner ear problems, build up of wax, ringing in the ears, tinnitus, as well as colds, 'flu, stress, headaches and migraines. This treatment is suitable for children and is a good alternative for people who have found ear syringing uncomfortable. The ear candling is finished with a relaxing facial massage, which further enhances the therapeutic benefits of this treatment.

Ear candling is not suitable if you have grommets in place, have a perforated ear drum or any infection of the ear.    I use top quality ear candles made by Biosun.  They are made to the traditional Hopi Indian recipe, the ingredients include pure beeswax, precious honey extracts and organic linen.  These are combined with powdered  medicinal herbs, such as sage, St John's wort and chamomile, well known for their healing properties.  Biosun ear candles have the CE mark (93/42-EEC) for medical devices in Europe and are the only ear candle registered as a class11a medical device.
